Seller Readiness Score
How ready is your home to sell?
The Seller Readiness Score is a free app that helps you walk through your home room by room, look at the things that can affect how it presents to buyers, and identify what may deserve attention before you sell.
Available now for iPhone and iPad. Android coming soon. Free to download and use.
Use the tool I use
The Seller Readiness Score isn't just a checklist I created for homeowners. It's the same room-by-room approach I use when assessing a home at a listing appointment.
You can walk through your home yourself, look at the same kinds of things I look at, and identify what may deserve attention before you sell.
It won't tell you what your home is worth or replace the judgment that comes from seeing a property in person. What it can do is help you look at your home more systematically and start deciding where your time and effort may make the biggest difference.
Is your home ready to sell?
A home is generally ready to sell when the things that could affect a buyer's first impression, or raise unnecessary questions about its condition, have been dealt with, and you've decided what to leave alone. It doesn't need to be perfect.
Getting there usually means looking at the home the way a buyer will, room by room, and deciding what to fix, improve, have looked at or leave as it is, weighing the cost, time, disruption and likely benefit of each. When it comes time to list, the property information, pricing and marketing plan matter too.
The Seller Readiness Score helps with the first part: a structured way to walk through your home and see what may deserve attention first. Preparing your home to sell explains each of these steps in more detail.
How it works
See where your home stands
The answers build a Seller Readiness Score and help identify areas that may deserve attention.

Walk through your home
Work room by room through practical items involving condition, maintenance, presentation and how each space may appear to a buyer.
Each item is rated from 1, needs immediate attention, to 5, ready, or marked as not applicable to that room. You can add a photo or two for reference.

See what could make a difference
The app provides recommendations and shows how completing them could improve the home's readiness score. If you choose to, you can share or email the report.

What it doesn't do
The app helps you organize what you notice and what may deserve attention. The decisions about your home stay yours.
- It doesn't tell you what your home is worth, or predict a sale price or how long a sale will take.
- It isn't a home inspection, and it doesn't replace an inspector, contractor or other qualified professional.
- It doesn't decide which repairs or renovations to do.
- It doesn't replace an in-person assessment of the property, or professional advice.
Your information stays on your phone
Your information stays on your phone unless you choose to share your report. The app's privacy policy is available in the app and here: Seller Readiness Score privacy policy.
Where it fits if you're thinking about selling
It can be most useful once you've read about preparing a home to sell, and before you talk to contractors or a REALTOR®. A structured list of what you've noticed makes those conversations more specific, and you can share the report with a contractor or family member if you choose to. It's also useful if you're only thinking about selling someday.
